Ethnic minority, associations and sociocultural’s integration
Abstract
Associations, these undertood as a way to give the minority a structure and defend its interests, that is, as a base for collective action, can work as a catalyzer of the social integration process and its negotiation, and also of its political participation. From this approach we are introduced to the synthesis of a research on Africans and Gipsies associations in two provinces (one in the Aragon Autonomous Community and other one in the Catalan Community), pointing out their aims, functioning, members, difficulties and problems and whether they have an important tole in the process of sociocultural integration of their «represented». At the same time, we shall approach to the knowledge, acceptation and participation in these communities, by means of a survey and thorough interviews to individuals from these groups. Keywords
