El penalti a la maternitat a Espanya
Desentranyar la bretxa salarial de gènere al mercat de treball
Resum
Aquest article analitza l’impacte de la maternitat i la paternitat en els salaris d’homes i dones a Espanya. La recerca fa servir un enfocament quantitatiu basat en dades de l’Enquesta de Població Activa per a l’any 2019. Els resultats mostren que les dones continuen patint desigualtats salarials al mercat laboral respecte dels homes amb característiques similars. Els resultats relatius a la maternitat mostren que les dones amb menors al seu càrrec cobren lleugerament menys que les dones sense criatures. No obstant això, aquest càstig a la maternitat es dissipa quan es té en compte la parcialitat, que és la màxima responsable de la diferència salarial entre les dones amb descendència i les dones sense descendència. Al seu torn, es conclou que els homes, quan són pares, obtenen beneficis econòmics entesos com un premi a la paternitat.
