Abstract

In this work, the theoretical “hard core” of Habermas’s theory of communicative action (TCA) is reconstructed from a systematic perspective. We focus on the meta-theoretical differentiation of TCA and the sociality criterion of the categorical system relative to the concept of communicative action. To address both objects, we rely on two infrequently used TCA methods: an analysis of Ritzer’s metatheorizing as prelude and an architectural analysis of dimensions of sociality. The hypothesis suggests that both sociological objects are informed by a strongly dyadic foundation.

Sergio Pignuoli Ocampo, CONICET/FCS-UBA

Sergio Pignuoli Ocampo es doctor en Ciencias Sociales por la Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA). Actualmente es investigador del Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas (CONICET), con sede en el Instituto de Investigaciones Gino Germani (UBA-FCS-IIGG), y docente regular de la cátedra «Niklas Luhmann y la sociología de la modernidad» (UBA-FCS). Desarrolla investigación en teoría sociológica, teoría de sistemas sociales y teoría de la comunicación.
