Cultural Policies: Notes from the Chilean Case
Abstract
The autor, by analysing the Chilean case, discusses the method of coordination of means production and propagation of cultural output. He sets out, by way of explanation, a «framework of objectives» in which the States plays an important role in controling the flow of cultural output, and which in democracy has to replace the authoritarian rules which operate under the military regime. This demonstrates the efforts of the later regime to shape social conformism, through cultural practices which supported the method of economic de-regulation, highlighting how initical attemps of resistence followed later by cultural opposition indicates the existence of diferent cultural policies, posed by socialy diverse groups and factions.Published
