Water in the Jordan basin: the fight for a scarce resource
Abstract
Freshwater has been one of the key elements in Arab-Israeli relations; not only as a cause for conflict but also for its having been the main factor in the only attempt at cooperation among the different states in the Jordan basin. Thus, water resources in the region attain clear political, economic, and –even military– security dimensions. The article tackles these dimensions of the water issue along with the history of the Arab-Israeli conflict. Keywords
