The Easterlin’s interpretation of the fertility. Consensus and controversy about yours works
Abstract
The aim of the paper is to summarize the research carried out by the Northamerican demographer and economist Richard A. Easterlin in relation to fertility and economic status. The importance of the contribution of this author in the understanding of the decisions about fertility behavior has been internationally recognized but at the same time it has been the source of a lively debate. The paper also reviews the most outstanding research to validate Easterlin’s proposition.Published
