Abstract

This article seeks to contribute a methodological reflection in a direction that, following Derek Layder (1993) we call the Multi-strategy Approach. This approach proposes a model and a methodological process that aims to grasp and analyse the social phenomenon as a totality through its different aspects without its identity being reduced or segmented by the effects of the model and the method of analysis. This methodology was generally followed in this research project as being the most appropriate for dealing with a social reality composed of interlinking dimensions and involving a high degree of complexity. We present the objectives, make a comparison with other methods, and study the elements of which it is composed and the correspondence and adaptation of our research methodology to this perspective of analysis. This paper is part of a research work whose results are in this PAPERS volume. The paper is autonomous but the reading of the other papers of this volum can help to contextualize it.
