Foreign women: double exclusion. The influence of the Alien’s Law in migrant women
Abstract
Even though the Administration and other actors are responsible of immigration policies appreciate a growing balance by immigrants gender division, women invisibility is still a constant feature. If foreigners suffer the effects of a legislation orientated towards negative formulation —with the objective of reducing new flows and sealing off borders rather than encouraring solidarity and integration—, women as foreigners suffer a bigger discrimination as a consequence of the devalorised stereotypes rooted in the host society and in a severe legislation on family reunion. Keywords
