The International Adoption in Spain
Abstract
The circumstances which allowed the introduction of international adoption after World War II are reviewed in this article, together with the functions allocated to bodies responsible for protecting minors and to co-operating entities with international adoption throughout the whole process of adoption. Likewise Spanish norms are considered, according to the premises laid down in international regulations. Statistical data are given concerning the development of this resort to protection and national adoption during recent years in Spain. Finally, some thoughts about the dangers of adopting foreign children are expressed.Keywords
