Party alliances and organisational change: the case of Convergència i Unió
Abstract
Convergència i Unió is an alliance made by Convergència Democràtica de Catalunya (CDC) i Unió Democràtica de Catalunya (UDC) in 1978. During more than twenty years, CiU has had the same form, but in 2001 the Alliance experimentated a deep organisational change and becomes a party federation. The aim of this article is to explore the evolution of CiU and reasons for the organisational change and his dimension.Keywords
