The role of scientists in enviromental reform
Abstract
In the recent years, there has been an increasing interest on the integration of science and policy making on environmental issues. It is considered that scientists can facilitate the resolution of complex environmental problems through becoming more engaged on the policy process. However, differences in values and interests among scientists and politicians and other interest groups might difficult this integration. This study analyses, from semistructured interviews to environmental scientists, scientists’ beliefs and attitudes towards the role of science and scientists on the environmental policy process. Keywords
