Reddit Place. Una ventana para comprender las concepciones nacionalistas en el siglo XXI
Resumen
En la primavera de 2022 tuvo lugar la segunda edición de un evento internacional colaborativo en línea de Pixel Art, Reddit Place, dentro de la red social Reddit. Durante los cuatro días de actividad se representaron numerosas manifestaciones nacionalistas de distinta índole y escala, que se ofrecieron como un interesante laboratorio de exploración de este concepto identitario en el siglo XXI. La metodología utilizada en el estudio ha consistido en la digitalización de la imagen resultante y en la clasificación de las expresiones patrióticas que aparecen en ella, considerando la escala territorial, la inclusión de memes y las relaciones internacionales que se expresan, para su posterior cuantificación. Los resultados no se pueden tomar como plenamente representativos del Zeitgeist mundial, pero ofrecen una ventana para la reflexión y el planteamiento de hipótesis en torno al papel del nacionalismo en el siglo XXI y la evolución de los símbolos en los que se apoya.
