Questionnaire layout and quality of response in self-administered surveys
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to analyze the influence of the size of the questionnaire, color of the paper, and the existence of front and back with a graphic design on the rate and quality of response in postal surveys. The quality of response is defined considering the number of unanswered questions, the number of answers in multiple-choice questions, and the presence of so-called primacy effect. After obtaining a response rate of 56.6% (RR1), the paper shows that none of the elements considered affect the rate and quality of response. Keywords
