The Water Cultures in the Spanish Press. On the cultural frameworks in the communication of the Spanish National Water Plan
Abstract
This research specifies and applies the concept of cultural frameworks to the analysis of the public communication of the Spanish National Hidrological Plan. From a content analysis of the articles which appeared during its elaboration and approval in the main Spanish press, the contents, differences and interrelationships of the different water cultural frameworks were identified. In particular, a new framework, based on sustainability claims, was identified and emerged not only as an isolated discourse, but also was progressively affecting and redefining the perceptions and arguments presented bythe other more dominant cultural frameworks. Keywords
