The changing relationships between a non-state wide party and its sister party: the case of Iniciativa per Catalunya Verds (1987-2007)
Abstract
In order to analyse the relationships between state-wide parties (SWP) and non-state wide parties (NSWP) which act as sister parties it is useful to apply the dimensions that measure the degree of vertical integration between the state and sub-state levels of party organization in multilevel contexts. The case studied is that of the relationships between ICV and IU in the period 1987-2007, the oldest and loosest interparty cooperation formula of the three that exist in Spain. The analysis of the interparty relationships allows us to understand too the ideological and organizational evolution of ICV in the last decades. Keywords
