Emotional demands at work in Spain
Abstract
Psychosocial dimensions have, for some time, been an important element in the analysis of working conditions, particularly when emotions are activated in employees (and/or consumers). This paper aims to contribute to this academic field with a map of the emotional demands in the Spanish labour force taking into account certain socio-demographic variables. To do so, we use the VI National Survey of Working Conditions (ENCT) conducted by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (Ministry of Labour and Immigration) conducted in 2007. Among other findings, we conclude that occupation plays a very important role in such perceptions and that there is also a gender dimension. Keywords
